“ Excellent hummus and tzaichiii from the appetizer sampler plate (we replaced the eggplant) The chicken kebab plate was also good, albeit a bit dryer and blander than expected but the salad side was very good. The veggie pide was suuuper cheese heavy ”
“ Can't believe I haven't given my fat thumbs up to this place. Amazing, clean and a slice of Istanbul indeed. Definitely top of the list on Castro St. Neat. Food will not be fast -- because its good food. Coffee or beverage, unless its out of a bottle, will not be fast because its good. So when your pace is relaxed, try out the platter of appetizers, pide and wholesome goodness of Turkish hospitality. I favor this hummus over the other joint. ”
“ The food was fresh and delicious. Really enjoyed that each flavor profile was distinct and didn't just blend together. ”
“ This is a classic Bay Area Mediterranean chain. This particular location has sort of limited seating and you order at the counter. I really liked the tzatziki and pita here. The bread was crispy on the outside and sort of thin. It was so nicely grilled. The tzatziki was also super yummy and light. Super refreshing with the bread. The lemonade was also really yummy. It sorta reminded me of calamansi juice. It was super tart and refreshing ”
“ A hidden gem! Was craving hummus and can say that this place is properly named. We got the chipotle hummus because we wanted some spice and it wasn't spicy but added a nice complexity of flavor. I got the gyro plate which was amazing! I even loved the salad and pickled veggies. Everything on the plate got cleaned. I don't usually get chicken because I'm afraid it isn't seasoned well but the chicken kebab was nicely seasoned. I don't think you can go wrong here and we will be back! ”
“ Great Falafel & Weekend Shakshuka! I've tried a few things here, and overall, it's a decent spot for Mediterranean food. The falafel is fresh and well-seasoned, and the classic hummus is good. One standout dish for me was the shakshuka, which is available only on weekends until 12 or 1 PM. It was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and something I'd definitely come back for. On the other hand, I wasn't a fan of the olive and feta hummus--it just didn't work for me. If you visit, I highly recommend trying the shakshuka on weekends! ”
“ This is a more casual rendition than the one at Stanford Mall, and menu is a bit different as well. The location at Stanford Mall is full service, with a more extensive menu; whereas this is a order a the counter more casual ambience, but food is still quite good. My kale salad was a bit bland, but for a healthy dish still did that job. The salmon wrap was flavorful though, and I liked that the tortilla was lightly toasted as well with some crisp on the sides. Chicken Gyro plate was a generous portion of well flavored, tender chicken along with rice and salad. They do have wine options as well, and tea. The tea is served in a large french press and seems pretty high quality. Of course I couldn't leave without a baklava which was perfect ”
“ Downtown Mountain View is so cute and I love how there are a lot of seats outside of Hummus Mediterranean Kitchen so you can dine outside. The lighting at around evening is perfect in the summer because you're not in direct line of the sun but it's not cold. I ordered the chicken gyro house plate after quite a bit of deliberation. Service was really fast and the chicken well-seasoned although it was a little bit dry. The salad was a little bit heavy on the dressing and I wasn't a fan of the pita (too dry). The portion is definitely large enough for two meals and you can ask for a box to go. ”
“ We were looking to cater for a holiday party and needed an option that was easy to serve many people with varying dietary needs. Hummus Mediterranean Kitchen came to the rescue! They had plenty of options, with an appetizer combo which gave a nice healthy spread of different options. We opted to order directly on their website as they had more options, even though the prices were the same as Doordash. They were on time in delivery as well! The spanokopita was a huge hit, so much so that it was done in the first 20 min! The dolmas were some of the best I had. They had a variety of hummus spreads, like classic, beet, and chipotle, all of which were yummy and flavorful. The other options in the appetizer spread were nice too. The only disappointment were the falafel, as they were a lot smaller than expected, and wished that we were recommended to get more falafel. I wish they gave a bigger quantity to choose from or at least bigger falafel as they got cold fast due to their size. Overall I am happy to cater from this place and plan to keep this place in mind for future catering needs! Thank you for making the holiday party catering a memorable one ”
“ 10/4/24 Hummus Mediterranean Kitchen 185 Castro St Mountain View, CA 94041 I had a craving for Hummus and Pita bread so I chose this place in DT MTV on a Friday mid-afternoon. I parked in a usually available nearby city lot for a short walk. There were few people there in a spacious clean and new table and chair arrangement. Ordering is at the back counter below the menu board. I had the Classic Hummus which was quickly brought to my table, it came with six quarter slices of warm and soft Pita bread. The Hummus was topped with olive oil, two olive slices and Paprika. It was truly classic although I like mine with a stronger garlic taste. The menu features other classic Mediterranean selections like gyros and kebabs so I might try them with a repeat. ”
